What is Park Golf?
Park Golf was invented in 1983 in Makubetsu, Hokkaido, Japan. It is similar to both Golf and Croquet and was designed to be accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. It can be played within 90 minutes and the longest hole is 90 yards. It is a great sport that the whole family can enjoy together!

L-R - Tomomi Maya (Exchange Student), Ric McGee (Mayor - Kawartha Lakes), Heather Newman (Lindsay-Nayoro Twinning Committee Chairperson), Ned Bean (Oliver's Nest Operating Manager), Nobuaki Yamamoto (Deputy Counsul-General of Japan in Toronto), Mark Hamilton (International Park Golf Representative), Mikako Hamilton (Park Golf Enthusiast from Japan).
Equipment
Park Golf is played using a club similar in appearance to a standard golf club with a thicker, shorter shaft. The head is rarely varied, but the length of stick can change according to the height of the player. The club is flat and only the most skillful player can hit the ball in the air. The entire game can be played with one club.
The durable plastic resin balls are brightly coloured so they can be easily distinguished from a distance. Each is 60 mm in diameter and less than 100 grams.

Etiquette
4th hole: 65 yards to pin.
This is based around the principles of enjoyment of both the game and nature. In the spirit of keeping the game light-hearted, it is quite acceptable for players to laugh at each others bad shots. Players take care not to damage the greenery and smoking on all courses is forbidden.
Rules
Family fun for all ages!
The order of play is determined by a coin toss. From the second hole onward, the order of play is determined by player score. The player with the best score goes first.
The first shot for any hole should be made from the designated area on the tee ground.
After the tee shots, the player furthest from the hole shoots next.
Swinging and missing is not counted as a stroke, unless the ball is moved by the swing.
If another player's ball blocks the line to the cup, simple request that it be marked.
If your ball makes contact with another player's ball, replace the other player's ball to its original position and play your ball from where it came to rest.
Balls that land out of bounds should be placed in bounds within two club lengths from the point where they went out and in a position no closer to the hole. A two-stroke penalty is incurred.
