Exchange Students Visit for the Summer
Kurumi (left) and Daiki at their Farewell Picnic held at the Sturgeon Point Park in September.
In July of 2012, Kurumi Miyazaki, 17, and Daiki Sato, 18, were hosted by families in the City of the Kawartha Lakes during their seven week stay. Both had a wonderful time making new friends, trying new foods, and experiencing Canadian culture. Excursions included trips to the Canadian Canoe Museum, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, Canada's Wonderland, the Ontario Science Centre, and a Blue Jays Game. More fun was had simply enjoying time spent with their various host families and taking part in summer activities in the City of Kawartha Lakes from boating and tubing to lending a hand doing simple farm chores. Both agreed that this was an unforgettable and wonderful summer.
